Therapy for Major Life Transitions

Navigate change with clarity and confidence.

Whether it’s a career shift, breakup, relocation, or an identity transformation, life changes can be anything from exciting to disorienting. It is completely normal to experience anxiety, self-doubt, or even emotional exhaustion when navigating a transition – so if that’s what you’re experiencing right now, you’re in the right place.

My therapy for major life transitions service helps adults in their 20s and 30s process emotional changes and pivotal life moments with clarity, confidence, and a sense of stability.

My goal is to equip you with the tools you need to embody the change you’re experiencing in a way that feels authentic, grounded, and aligned with your values. To help us accomplish this goal, I’ll utilize a variety of trauma-informed therapy modalities including DBT, somatic, and parts-based therapy techniques.

What makes this
service unique

My advanced somatic training and psychotherapy experience allow me to take a deeper, more embodied approach to therapy than traditional talk therapy. While our work will be conversational, we’ll utilize active visualization techniques, DBT skill-building practices, and if relevant, EMDR. These trauma-informed modalities enable me to provide a more specialized approach that goes beyond mere cognitive processing and into the real-life, embodied experience of the change itself.

Change can be beautiful or nerve wracking, and my approach ensures your therapy sessions will be not only contemplative, but transformative. My style is highly focused on empowerment and agency, which can be especially beneficial in times of uncertainty when day-to-day life is ever evolving. Through gentle, somatic guidance and assertive DBT counseling, I help my clients step into change with confidence and navigate the unknown with clarity.

Benefits of life transition therapy

One of the many reasons why life transitions can be so ‘major’ is because it’s never just about the external change. Major life transitions provide us with excellent opportunities for discovering what we want from the inside out verses making decisions based on what we think we should do then later feeling disappointed.

Whether you’re going through a breakup, getting married, having a baby, or relocating for a new job, including routine therapy throughout your transition can help you…

My work integrates:

Taking the next step, with therapy

Change can feel messy and wonderful and overwhelming. It’s completely normal to feel a surge of complex and conflicting emotions about significant transitions. There may be excitement over the change, because new beginnings are full of potential. But new beginnings can often trigger hidden grief and anxiety over the uncertainty of… well… [gestures at everything].

It takes courage to listen to our dreams and then create a life based on those longings. As someone who has moved around a lot – not for work, but to pursue my life to the fullest – I know how challenging it can be to find a partner, build a home, and cultivate a life in alignment with my core values. Learning how to listen to our truest desires while balancing adult responsibilities and stepping into the unknown is hard work…

But it’s also the adventure of a lifetime, and I believe the effort is worth it. Having professional guidance and being supported with practical tools can help you experience this next change with more calm. You don’t need to navigate this alone. If you’re starting a new chapter, please don’t let an old chapter get in the way.

Whenever you’re ready, I’m here.
